How many allowed SubInterfaces on 3640

I have a 3640 which I configured multiple subinterfaces on a FastEthernet interfaces. I hoping to configure more than 8 subinterfaces allowed on this trunk. Does anyone know the recommended maximum subinterfaces on this 3640 with two Fast Ethernets runnning IOS 12.1(1) T?

Interface descriptor blocks can run into the hundreds, Its Version and platform dependent. The 7xxx platform could run up to 380 IDB's. Heres a link
