I have a 2611 populated with an E1 card for ISDN PRI in Australia, I am not sure which swicth type to use, primary-net5 or primary-ts014, wither one seems appropriate depending on whic support article I read. On a related topic, I wish to also be able to use this as an access router for both ISDN and PSTN calls, is this possible?
Thanks
Dean

IF you are in doubt, you can very well ask your sevice provider about what switch setting should you use.
Cisco says, that primary-net5 is the setting for PRI interfaces in Europe.
Check this link....
http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/software/ios113ed/dbook/disdn.htm
You should be using primary-ts014 as your setting.

Trouble is there is also some documentation suggesting primary-net5 should be used here.
Check out http://www.cisco.com/warp/public/129/isdn_australia.html
From this it appears we can use both and depends on the hardware.

Hmm, both documents say different things.
You can try using either one of them, and see if the ISDN layer 1 and layer 2 are coming up.
Configure one switch type, activate the pri interface, and verify using show isdn status.
Verify that Layer 1 Status is ACTIVE, and that the Layer 2 Status state = MULTIPLE_FRAME_ESTABLISHED appears.
If this doesnt work, remove the previous switch type and add the new switch type. You might have to restart the router after a switch type change.
Hope that helps!
