How do you configure a management vlan on a 6500 running native IOS? For example, I create a loopback with an IP but when I do a show cdp it shows the IP address of the lowest configured vlan. Is there a way to force the switch to advertise it's loopback - also want to use the loopback for all management services - tacacas, logging etc. Any help would be appreciated. David

I'm not sure about setting CDP to advertise an IP address other than what you are seeing. Typically in a switched environment VLAN 1 is used as the management address of the switch.
As for TACACS and syslog, you can souce TACACS and syslog messages from the loopback interface IP address with the commands:
ip tacacs source-interface
logging source-interface
