There is no CLI on routers to check for this. Since you have the router, connect it to a PC using both cross over/Straight-through and see if it links up. If it does with a cross over cable as well, MDIX is supported. If not, it is not. Make sure you do not hard code speed/duplex(if you do you will be disabling auto-mdix)

thanks !
The ports are hard coded to 100FD
I use Straight-through patch cables.
That means I cannot use cross over cables ?

Correct.. If you hard code, it is equivalent to disabling MDIX(assuming that the router supports it)

thanks !
CISCO 836 router is connected via straight-through patch cable to the switch.
Both Ethernet devices (router & switch) are hard coded to 100FD.
At the switch I cannot use AUTO for MDI/MDIX.
AUTO MDI/MDIX I can use only by NIC AUTO-NEGOTIATION.
Should I enable MDI or MDIX on the switch in my case ?

The advantage of MDIX I see is while connecting to desktops and not inter-switch link or a link to a router.
I would not enable MDIX if hardcoding speed/duplex.

I think it depends on what is on the other side.
In my case with a straight-through cable I must use MDIX on the switch.
With MDI was not working !

Now is clear !
It depends on what is on the other side.
In my case MDIX must be enabled on the switch.
