Hi all,

Have been having a hard time finding any ifo to help me with this issue. I have an MSFC in a 6509 that I am unable to tunnel thru to using session 15. I can get to session 16 OK. When I do a sh mod 15 I get the following output. I have tried a reset 15, and used complete diagnostics, but it is not showing me anything that helps. Thanks in advance for any advice.

Try to do a "switch console" to watch the MSFC during boot. This should connect the console port to the MSFC. Reset 15 again

It sounds like the MSFC is bad.

This can also happen if the IOS is corrupted on the MSFC.

Use the switch console, suggested by the other reply, to upgrade the IOS for the MSFC.

Hi,

I recently had a similar problem. I would telnet to the switch, do a

show log

Module 16 Log:

Reset Count: 0

see if that module is resetting itself. In my case it was… I would also check to see if there is a crash info file in flash for that router… (Dir bootflash:)

In my case the MSFC was bad. I have seen them go bad on several occations.
