NAM2 software upgrade problem

I have a 6500 NAM2 blade that I want to upgrade to 3.1.1 code.

I seem to be hitting a bug insofar as when I try to reboot it into maintenance mode it just sits there then powers down. This suggests the maintenance image - 1.1.1 is not compatible with IOS 12.1.13E6 . However there are no other maintenance images available for the NAM 2.

Any ideas ?

Thanks

According to 'Table 3 NAM Software Compatibility':

http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/lan/cat6000/cfgnotes/78_14487.htm#78678, NAM-1/2 Maintenance Image 1.1(1)m is compatible with

12.1(13)E or later releases with a Supervisor Engine 2 with an MSFC2. From your description, it appears that when you boot into the Maintenance Partition (MP), the whole NAM module powers down?. Is so, this could be a problem with the MP image. What you can try is to boot into the NAM's Application Partition and simply re-image the NAM MP again by downloading the image from: http://www.cisco.com/cgi-bin/tablebuild.pl/ws-svc-nam

The above procedure can be seen at: http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/lan/cat6000/cfgnotes/78_14487.htm

Tried reimaging the maintenance image, no change. It still sits there in an 'unknown' state for a while, then powers down.

NAM application image version: 2.2(1a)

Simon,

Next time you try to boot into maintenance mode, could you type "show test " for the NAM and paste the portion under "BIOS CMOS Boot Status" after a failed boot?

Also, paste a "show mod " if you can.

Roddie

Do you know of an IOS equivilent to show test ?

Simon
