Hi all,
we have a small 837 that had all files/memories erased by its previous owner
and while trying to recover it they uploaded the wrong ROMMON file. (I think it was a 827 ROMMON) Now
when restarting it says it is an unkown device with 4MB of memory while we know it has
8MB... (this does not allow us to upload the correct image on it either as it thinks it is too big for it!)
I have done my RTFM and STFW already so this is a genuine query.
Any pointers will be appreciated!

You can do an xmodem and load the image into DRAM (default is to load image into flash). Use the xmodem - r dest_file_name command. Once the router loads up normally and the flash is correctly recognized, you can copy the image into flash.

Thanks for that.
When I do that, after I send from the terminal application it thinks about it and comes back with: ERR: File not a valid executable.
The file is the approved .bin image from the CCO site.
