network slower after moving to 4006 from 5513

I have 3 switches. The core 4006 is the the spanning tree root. A second 4006 is trunked via gig to the core 4006. A 5513 is connected to the core 4006 via a gig link.

I moved all the connections for one of my VLANs to the 2 4006's. My assumption was the faster backplanes on the 4006 would be an enhancement over the 3 1.2g backplanes on the 5513. The VLAN now runs slower with timeouts.

There are no errors on any of the VLAN's ports. The sh system commands shows peak utilization of 0%. There is 30000K of available memory.

I am looking for any suggestions.

Thanks in advance.

What software version are you running on your 4006? Can you paste the output of sh ver and sh nvramenv 1. If you have a sniffer, capture some traces as well
