Hi

if i have peer router with aggregate summary-only commands (the Origin code is incomp.) and the origin code for specific route is EBGP

does it change the global aggregate route origin from ? to e and advertise it to the upstream router?

The origin codes for BGP are i, e and ?

where i - route learned via IGP (not IBGP)

where e - route learned via EGP (not EBGP) - EGP is exterior gateway protocol.

and ? - route learned via redistribution.

So when you summarize the route using aggregate summary-only command, the Origin code should be

"i", unless the specific routes are learned from redistribution. Also the origin code of specific routes will never be EGP, unless the local router learns those routes via EGP.
