I'm trying to set a policy based route so that specific source addresses have a different next hop.
Here is the relevant config lines:
access-list 199 permit ip 10.1.40.0 0.0.0.255 any
route-map Internap permit 10
match ip address 199
set ip next-hop 10.100.10.1
I need to apply this route map to a routed VLAN interface but the command isn't valid. Any ideas?

I could be wrong but you have to be running the EMI image for PBR to work on the 3550

Perfect SMI does not support PBR.
PBR requires EMI

Hi,
your IOS is EMI (i5 in the file name means EMI, i9 means SMI).
BUT you need the latest IOS 12.1(14)EA1a.
PBR should be supported in it, see http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/lan/c3550/12114ea1/3550scg/swiprout.htm#1260543.

Okay. I just upgraded my switch to 12.1(14)EA1a. The 'ip policy route-map {name}' command now exists but will not take. When the command is entered, there is no error. When I do a show run, it isn't there. I'm trying to use this on a routed vlan interface. Is this not a valid interface type?
Thanks,
Patrick

Hi,
the configuration guide (http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/lan/c3550/12114ea1/3550scg/swiprout.htm#1260543)
says:
"You can enable PBR on a routed port, an SVI, or an EtherChannel port channel in Layer 3 mode. "
So I'd open a TAC case and report the bug.

Milan

I tried that. It isn't a valid command.
Any more ideas?
Thanks,

I believe PBR is supported from IOS version 12.1(13)EA1. It is one of the new features in this release:

Hope that helps.
