Any issues with enabling Portfast to a server that has 3 interfaces and which is setup to do routing between them? Main interface is on a busy VLAN, but the other 2 ints go to LANs (VLANs) that go nowhere else.
Thanks in advance...

As long as the server NICs do not do any bridging(and hence send out BPDUs), i do not see any issues with enabling port fast on these ports.

Really.. so portfast can be enabled for anything that doesn't send out BPDUs, including routers, firewalls, etc..??
Basically, anything that isn't a hub/switch?

That's right. ... or a "bridge". Beware that some Micro$oft Operating Systems do bridging by default. It's OK if all the NICs are on different VLANs, but if the host has more than one NIC on the same VLAN, make sure it has bridging disabled.

Excellent info guys, much appreciated!
By the way, which MS Operating Systems would do such bridging by default??

XP does. Don't know about the others.
