Please where do I need to disable/enable portfast on a Switch when connecting to the following devices:

Routers

Switch

Hub

Bridge

Terminal servers

portfast should only be enabled on ports that are connected to end systems (Pc's / Servers/ etc). No switches should be connected to these ports, since STP does not run on them. Also to safe guard in case of loops (bpdu-guard) should be enabled in conjunction with portfast. (to your question "switches/bridges" would the only place port fast would be enabled)

I'm afraid you are not correct.

STP is still running on portfast-enabled ports. Portfast only skips listening and learning phase, the port goes to forwarding state immediately. The latest CatOS even brings possibility to use portfast on trunk ports (but some people don't recommend it).

But definitely it should be enabled on host ports (connecting servers, user PCs, printers, etc., to switches). BPDU guard is also a good idea on these ports.

My personal view:

EQUIPMENT PORTFAST

Routers either but would lean towards 'disabled'

Switch disabled

Hub disabled

Bridge disabled

Terminal servers either but would lean towards 'enabled'

PC's & Servers enabled

If not sure, go the safe option and use 'portfast disable'
