Another issue, if you have around 20 VLANs, is it recommended to go to Rapid PVST+ or MST?

Thanks for your response.

i'm confused about the difference between RSTP, PVST+, and Rapid PVST+.

Also, when you have to span the VLANs (around 25 VLANs) across multiple access switches, with 2 uplinks from each to the two 6509 switches (both will be distribution & core). I'm thinking to implement either Rapid PVST+ or MST (manual load balance) with HSRP.

root switch VLAN will be the primary HSRP.

Is this a good design, or do you have another opinion?
