What's the best way to install a 6513 gigbit blade? I am planning on installing a new module on slot 11.
Any helpful links would help. There are so many docs on the installation Router IOS 12.x.
Thanks.

Hi Fz,
I read the previous post and found that you are not able to assign a static ip address to one of yoru host.
Is that a microsoft client?
Can you try this command instaed of
Router(config-dhcp)# client-identifier unique-identifier
instead of hardware-address command which you tried in your last post.
NOTE: Specifies the distinct identification of the client in dotted hexadecimal notation, for example, 01b7.0813.8811.66, where 01 represents the Ethernet media type
Read this link and will surely solve your issue

Hello,
in addition to Ankur´s post, and with regard to the Gigabit blade in the 6513, I think that prior to IOS 12.2(28)SXD, you will have to reload the switch in order for the module to be recognized. Post 12.2(28)SXD releases have the command ´module clear-config´ available, which removes the configuration for a removed module automatically. Not sure if you are running into this, but if you do, it might be useful to know. You can configure that command as following:
6513#conf t
6513(config)#module clear-config
6513(config)#end

I found this last night as well. Thanks again! I will try this out. I also, I may also I notice the inheritace of the enabled DHCP server on the switch . I will aslo specify the helper address information similar how you would setup the standard DHCP Pool.
