Hi,

Can anybody tell me what the "transparent" doing here? I can not find it in the CCO DOC.

I couldn't find any reference on CCO. I will contact the documentation team to get that rectified.

In the meantime, here's a brief description.

The effect of this is to cause RIP to use the routing table metric for

redistributed routes as the RIP metric.

This command should be used in cases where a RIP metric needs to be

transported transparently through another routing protocol. A common

case would be a VPN configuration where customer routes are received

using RIP, the routes are carried across the provider backbone using

BGP, and transmitted to the other customer site using RIP. In this

case the original metric will be carried in the BGP MED value.
