Serial Card Checking

Hi All,

when a router does a POST, with a serial card installed, can it dtermine the state of the actual card, or just the interface..? I have been asked to install/check a number of used serial cards. Since I don't have an actual WAN Lab scenario, I'm kinda curious how to go about this. I'm sure there is a simple solution. Cheers.

POST actually checks the hardware I believe , usually you can use the command show diagbus to look at the card status .
