Share port Adapter on ASR 1001

Hello,

I have a SPA-5X1GE-V2 for ASP 1001.

Do I need to shutdown the router for me to add the adapter or I can add while the router is ON running.

yes i would advice to install in maintenance window for any Physical installation on the device.

i suggest below steps :

1. take the configuration backup out of the box.

2. check the IOS version compatability.

3. connect the console.

4. Turn off the device, insert the new line card.

5. Switch on new Router and capture all the Logs - see is the card recognised as expected.
