sniffer only able to capture one way traffics using SPAN

Hi

We have a 3500XL switch configured for port mornitoring for sniffer to capture traffics.

Even though we have configured to SPAN both direction traffics, the sniffer is only able to see one way packets.

We have changed the port setting to 10/half, but the result was the same.

Any advise? thanks

Hello,

as a matter of fact, he Catalyst 2900XL and 3500XL do not support SPAN in the receive direction only (Rx SPAN or ingress SPAN), or in transmit direction only (Tx SPAN or egress SPAN). All SPAN ports are designed to capture both receive (Rx) and transmit (Tx) traffic.

Can you post the relevant part of your configuration ? Which IOS version are you running ? Which sniffer are you using ?
