I have a Router and Pix firewall; I would like to implement logging onto my windows 2003 server. Do I need to install a third party syslog server? and if yes can you please recommend any free syslog servers that I can use?
Thank you for your time.

Most syslog software will have to be kept open (running) to have them receive the messages. This can be annoying sometimes. If you want to run the syslog as a service you can download the 3CSyslog service from 3com and run it as Win2k service.

Kiwi also makes a syslog daemon (service)

Another freeware one..
