Is there a way to view the amount of traffic that has transversed an interface? in either kb/mb/gb?
the only option I see is 'show ip traffic'...

a sh int serial x will show you the input and output packets as well as the 5 minute input output rate , you can change the rare by using the load-interval x , x equals the number of seconds.
you can clear the counters to get a new snapshot.

The show interface commands shows me the 40 % utilization (around 95/255) and also CiscoWorks shows me the same results, the load-interval was changed to 30 sec.

Is the 5 minute input\output rate an average over 5 minutes or the total throughput in 5 minutes. I notice it says in k/sec so i assume its a 5 minute average.
thanks
