Troubleshooting input queue on a 7304

Hello,

I'm trying to troubleshoot a situation where I am seeing a lot of packets being queued on input into a 7304. This is leading to interface throttling and queue flushes which may be affecting performance of the router.

When I do a show buffers input-interface <interface> headers, the only common field amoung all of the packets I see is the flags field, which show 0x280.

What is this field referring to? Is it the IP flags information? How do I decode it.

Many thanks

Eddie

I have seen the flag 0x280 with the show buffers output of a pos interface and I don't think it signifies any specific packet type. What is the traffic that is destined for the interfaces ip address? Packets destined for a router interface have to be process switched. What is the switching type configured?
