troubleshooting port errors

I've got a PIX 515E ethernet1 interface plugged in to a catalyst 6513 10/100 blade, both ends are set to 100/full (not autonegotiate). The PIX is my failover standby, so I didn't notice any problem till we failed over while connecting some new interfaces. The PIX interface accumulates collisions and late collisions, and the cat port accumulates alignment and fcs errors. Looks like a negotiation failure, except that the ports are set 100/full.

I'm considering switching to a different cat port, and then a new cable. Anybody have a better idea? TIA.

The symptoms match the issues in the following field notice.

The field notice says it was for PIX525. Check to see if your PIX serial number falls within the affected range.
