Unknown mistake in Catalyst

We have Catalyst WS-C2950-24. It works like normal.

But, if we connect new equipment on FastEthernet port,

there is a following message:

00:01:00: ERROR in strata_protected_notify:line935: can't get remote inst pointer

That it could be and how of it to get rid?

Is this a new switch? It almost sounds as if it may have those ports setup as protected ports in Private VLANS

Yes, it new.

But, any Private VLANS does not exist

It appears that the code could be corrupt (the error is a pointer to an errored line of code: 935). It can't fetch a pointer to a remote instruction.

Aside from a management IP address, what other config have you added? What is the "new equipment?" Could the new equipment be putting out unknown (to Cisco) protocol information?

If the switch is still a basic configuration, try re-loading the IOS.

If that doesn't correct the problem, RMA or get a replacement for the switch.
