We dial in to a 3661 router and after authenticating we get a bunch of unreadable characters then we need to hit contol 7 or done on the terminal window.

My question is what is this characters and can we take them out. Can we have it automatically close the terminal window after auth.

Thanks,

gilbert

When we dial using the post dial up window & connect, it's an exec session untill we hit the cntrl 7 or done button..... the NAS (into which we dialin) when configured for dedicated PPP connection, we start seeing garbage on the screen since the NAS is sending LCP packets out towards the dailin client.

By hitting cntrl 7 or done we are basically transfering the exec session to the PPP stack on the PC operating system...from there on the NAS & the client PC negotiate PPP.

On the NAS if we configure "autocommand ppp" under the lines then we will negotiate ppp.

Thanks, Mak.
