Uplink green - orange

Hello

3560 connected Gi 0/1 (1000BaseSX SPF)

via trunk to 6509 .. Trunk is working fine but from time to time diode color of uplink is changing from green to orange and than back to green.... during this connectivity is OK (Iam able to ping from switch...)... this is only one uplink from this switch... I checked some spanning tree commands and everything looks OK...

There is also another issue with this uplink 6509 Gigabit module doesnt supports auto negotation of speed and duplex ... BUT If i want to set Gi 0/1 (1000BaseSX SPF) of 3560 to speed 1000 and duplex full - this is not possible (this commands are missing under interface command line)...

So at 6509 side is manual setting and at 3560 is auto, but there are no errors on ports....

Could be this connected to previous issue and how to fix it

THX

M.

Always set the speed & duplux mode to auto-auto or manual-manual. Therefore, in this case, better set as auto-auto then let the switch to negoitate.

For the LED issue, please indicate the color change is occured in 6509 or 3560. If it is 6509, what is the module no. ?

For 3560, please check below link for details.

The most simplest way is try to replace the UTP cable and check the log of the switch.
