Where can I find S/N on Supervisor II (Cat5500)

Hello,

I have some old Modules from a 5500-Series.

Now I want to write down the Serial-Number of the Modules. (5201, 5213a,.....)

Where are they to find?

How do they look like (xxx-xxx-xx-xx-xx)

Do you know a page with pictures where it is explained?

Thanks a lot!

Usually they are on a small orange sticker on the component side of the card, about 8 mm by 16 mm (at a guess), with a barcode and the s/n in clear text. For the 5500 series, they are normally a 10- or 11-digit number, with leading zeros. Typical numbers are in the 20000000 range, i.e. 8 significant digits.

You can also see the serial numbers by doing a show module from the CLI enable mode.

Hope this helps.

There are 2 stickers on the supervisor.

Both have a 8 digits long number (XXXXXXXX).

But there some yellow stickers with other numbers, but no 10-/11-digit numbers. There also are no leading zeros.

I dont have a working 5000/5500 Chassis, thats the problem with it.

I just had a look at one of our spare cards, and you are right - no leading zeros. THe leading weros just show up on the CLI.

There were two stickers, an orange one and a white one. The white one is the assembly number, and I presume it shows manufacturing details. It had a format like 73-xxx-xxxx-xx. The orange one just had 8 plain digits and no hyphens, and is the serial number.

Hope this helps.

You can get it from sh mod. Here is an output from my lab. I have changed the numbers to xxxxxxxx though
