I am trying to configure "snmp-server chassisid" for a Cat2950 (IOS) and it does not accept. Is there any special config to set the serial number is the configuration for this type of switch?
Thanks.

You can also use the Change Device Attributes in RME to update the serial numbers for the devices.

Thanks for the quick response.
Yes "sh ver" give me that. But how do I have it in the configuration so my Network Management System can pick it?
Thanks,
Gilson

What is your NMS app?. If the chassis serial number in 'sh snmp' matches with 'sh ver', then the app should pick it up by default. If not, then you need may to use the chassis-id command
