I want to know that in 2950 series switches there is a LRE port. What is its purpose, What is it. Pls help me in this.

Stands for Long Range ethernet which allows you run a extremely long copper drop up to like 1600 feet or something like that . It is basically a DSL line run out to a customer device which requires a special piece of CPE on the customer end also .
