Hello-
I am trying to configure a 1601r router to use two ethernet ports. Is this possible? I know it has one built in port, but how about adding another ethernet port by using a WIC enet card or using the AUI connection? I have not been able to find any documentation on adding a WIC card for this model number router. I think that the AUI port and the built in ethernet port are the same, meaning you can use either one, but not both at the same time. Is this correct? Is there a type of WIC card that I can use on this router? Any information on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Hello,
the WIC-1ENET are not compatible with the 1601 (you need a 1700 Series router for that card). Indeed you can use either the AUI or the RJ-45, not both. The only WIC that goes with the 1601 is the WIC-1T, so there is no way to add an additional Ethernet port to the 1601...
If you require additional networks on the Ethernet port, you could use secondary addressing.
