whenever i make any changes on my configuration, the router doesnt seem to save it. there is no changes on the running configuration after changing or configuring something..can some help

The changes should be happening in the running config. Are you sure youre looking at the running config? Id suggest not saving the changes until after youve tested them in the running config. That way you can always revert back if need be. What kind of router and version of IOS are you running? Did you check to see if there are any bugs?

Cisco IOS doesn't show defaults, so if your changes are in fact default settings, you will not see them in the running config.
Whatever else you change should be seen in "sh run".
If saving (copy run start) doesn't help, you should check your config-register.

i think the changes are already effective. check out if the changes are effective. if not reload the router and see.

please save as copy running config to startup config
or write memory whenever you change the configuration and then reload, after that see the current config by command "show runn"

copy run start.
