FWSM ICMP Drops

I have a 6509 with a FWSM running 1.1(3) when I ping. From the MSFC to the FWSMs internal interface i can send an extened ping about 3000 and I have noticed ever 250 pings get dropped. I don't have any issues sending pings through the FWSM out to other networks its only on the internal interface that is located on the same VLAN that MSFC is on.

I have also noticed that some of the icmp packets get dropped while pinging. The packets could be dropped in FWSM due to rate limit. You could try increasing the round trip time using an extended ping and check if the packets are still dropped. In my case the ping was 100% successful after changing the Sweep max size parameter.
