Strange Deny message

May 26 2006 17:52:08 XXXXXXXX : %ASA-2-106006: Deny inbound UDP from fe80::204:ff:fe13:be2f/547 to ff02::1:2/547 on interface outside

I am running an ASA 5510 in transparent mode only two interfaces into a single switch (2924) I am seeing this error message and not sure how to read it. Every other example I find of it has an IP address instead of the HEX numbers. Just curious on if anyone knows what it means.

Looks like IPv6 addresses.

Yes .. indeed they are IPv6 addresses .. IP V6 uses a different numbering syntax .. please see the below RFC for a better understanding of it ..

http://www.faqs.org/rfcs/rfc2373.html

I hope it helps .. please rate it if it does !!!
