ASR 903 to BITS Timing Source (SSU 2000)

I am working on getting timing information from a SSU 2000 to our ASR 903 chassis. 

I find that I do not know how to configure and validate this and so far the documentation is not too helpful to me. 

Here is what the documentation says to me:

When I am in my router, I do not seem to have all of these options. 

ASR903-TDM1(config)#network-clock input-source 1 external r1 ?
 10m    10 MHz Signal Mode
 2048k  Option 1 2048kHz on BITS/SSU port
 2m     2.048 MHz Input
 WORD   Input source description
 e1     E1 Signal Mode
 <cr>

Furthermore, how does one know which of these options to use?

How do I validate the timing source is being received?

I know certain modes will send QL information, and some will not. 

I know I can use "show network-clocks synchronization" but this always shows as QL-FAILED.

Very lost here.
