Hello
I have a direct peer which has the following state:Idle (PfxCt).
To clear this, I did: clear ip bgp neigh
The thing is, it went to Idle and is now stuck in Active. I even increased the max-prefixes but it is still Active.
I can ping the neighbor.
Anyone else experienced this? How can I get this EBGP peer to Established state?
Thanks
Walter

Walter,
It can be due to many different things. Can you post the ouput for the "show ip bgp nei

Hello Walter,
the state state:Idle (PfxCt) means the max-prefixes threshold has been passed.
try without a max-prefixes command or with an high max-prefixes they may be sending out a full table by error.
I see that now it is stucked in active.
You can wait some time, use neigh xx shutdown, no neigh xx shut.
You could use also some debug commands to see if you get any answer from the neighbor.
Hope to help

Hello Every one,
I solved it, in some alternate way; i don't know is it good or bad, but i get rid off this problem.
What i did? i just remove this neighbor x.x.x.x address and commit and then re-apply the whole neighbor config and commit. that works fine.
By it was in ASR 9001 platform.
Thanks everybody!!
