IP SLA on 6505 Series Switch

Hi everyone,

I have been doing some online research about IP SLA on 6509 switches and i have not been able to find really any good information.

We have two of these switches (we are a hosting company) and i want to setup some backup connections, using proactive monitoring techniques.

For example, a customer requires to be routed via a particular ISP (lets say Cogent) because this is a faster connection to his destination, but if cogent goes down for some reason, this connection needs to fall back to another ISP for backup (lets say ComputerLine).

I am doing route-maps with a set of the next-hop to be whatever ISP i want, but when it comes down to monitoring connections lets say every second, with IP SLA, i dont even have access to that command, meaning is not available in the Switch by default.

I'm using:

#sho ver

Cisco Internetwork Operating System Software

IOS (tm) s72033_rp Software (s72033_rp-IPSERVICESK9_WAN-M), Version 12.2(18)SXF11, RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc1)

cisco WS-C6509-E (R7000) processor (revision 1.3) with 983008K/65536K bytes of memory.

Processor board ID SMG1110N3WL

Does anyone knows if some commands are different in this Switch?

Maybe we need to upgrade the ISO on the Switch?

Alternatives or Suggestions?

Thanks

Ezequiel
