48 Stream Limit - Cisco SASD 7.5

Ed Johnston

We have upgraded a VSOM to 7.5 and set up SASD on 8 PC's with different views of the site.  We are receiving the following error.

"you have reached recommended limit of 48 video streams. Please consider closing some Walls/Views to ensure proper streaming."

The obvious is to close some Walls/Views. But I could not find a limit in the SASD documentation.  What can we do to fix this and is it fixable?

Thank you,

Ed

Hi Ed,

Looks like the only place I can find reference to this is in the original release notes for VSM 7.0.  It also includes an interesting caveat that may be of help to you (emphasis mine):

"

During normal SASD operations, SASD enforces a limit of 48 panes of video. However, during
Unattended Mode
operation, there is no limit enforced on the number of panes. If more than 48
panes are displayed, SASD performance can be poor and, in unusual cases, can crash. See defect
number CSCub06627 for related information.

"

Now, I can't guarantee that things haven't changed in subsequent builds of SASD since the official 7.0 release, but it may be worth a try if you haven't already.

Cheers!

Scott.

Hi Scott,

I tried the Unattended Mode but it still did not alleviate the issue.  Look into alternative methods atm.

Hi Ed,

I have a similar issue and started researching. Somehow landed on this page.

Could you please share your findings? Were you able to create views with more than 48 panes?

TIA,

Monica
