In the past couple months, I have had 15 of 149 CIVS-IPC-IPC-3530 cameras fail. I've also had numerous cameras (some of which required replacing) become unreachable, requiring me to replace the camera configuration through the VSOM interface.
I am running v7.5.0 (not co-located), with 5 Media Servers. The camera firmware version is 1.4.1-97.
The installation is in Northern New Jersey. It is cold, but well within specifications (-22F - 122F).
Has anyone experienced similar issues?

I can't speak to the 3500 series, but I'd like to thank you personally for your own feedback.
I wish you all the best.

We do not have any of the 3530 cameras, but we have a number of CIVS-IPC-6030, which indicate in the specs that they will operate down to -40F/-40C. We are in Alaska, and have been finding that as the temperature drops below about -5 to -10 F, the cameras start dropping. We are powering them from a 3750X switch with plenty of power available, and from a 3560 POE switch, also with enough power available.

Thanks for the additional feedback, sxepjepsen. I too operate out of a similar climate (Atlantic Canada; -30 or so) and have been very skeptical about real world performance in comparison to the rated claims.
Have you inquired with your Cisco rep or TAC/PSBU engineering to see what their take on it is?
Cheers!

I'm a newbie on this board, and I see this is a pretty old thread, but...
I seem to be having the same problem with some 6030 cameras. The temps dropped below 0 degrees F, and I've had a dozen cameras drop offline on me. This, or something similar, has happened in previous winters, also, but, since the temp was within the specs, and I don't see where Cisco uses a heater during low temps, I didn't pursue it.
Is this problem still relevant to any of you?

reading this makes me loose more and more trust in cisco cameras and making me push more and more for mobotix.
Ive had plenty of 2621v cameras fail with the last one from last week.
Plenty of others are showing the prefailure pixels.
We ordered like 60 3530s so far to replace the failing 2621v's.
What is the serial number range of failures that you are seeing?
All my cameras are mounted inside a building.

Hi StephanMC,
We haven't had much trouble with the Cisco cameras in the past, and we've actually been pretty pleased with the indoor versions of their newer models (we've got several dozen 6020 and 3520 cameras installed). This seems to be an issue specifically related to cold weather operation. As a note, if you are installing all of those 3530's inside, in a heated area, you could probably just go with the 3520 cameras with the vandal resistant conduit base and dome. It's pretty much the same camera, but not intended for outdoor use, and would cost a fair bit less.
Cheers!
