That's odd, my wimpy laptop gets that message all the time because it is so underpowered if i use it as a VSOM client directly.

But if i use that same laptop via VPN to RDP remotely to the real VSOM client i can pull up a very good view of 16 cams!

McWalter is right, check your RDP settings and video drivers on both systems, it *should* be working, normally i cannot use my wimpy laptop as a VSOM client directly, i even have to turn off VMR; but using it through VPN+RDP i can view 16up with VMR, and i have *all* RDP quality settings on high, you may want to go with default and play with those RDP session settings.  (My laptop CPU has an 1131 PassMark/CPUMark rating).

Hi cory,

Thanks for your reply ..

I didnt understand what do you mean by " 9500 may be *okay* for 4up, but not for and RDP of 4up ?.."

Just to clear it that attached are the pics of VSOM Client PC where i can see all cams properly.

I am doing remote desktop from a local PC which is into the same LAN of VSOM server.

Do you mean my remote desktop machine should also have the specification which is required for VSOM Client ?

Regards,

Are you using 32bit colors on the PC that is having trouble? You may also want to update your video drivers.

I've never been able to get an RDP connection to render VSOM or VSVM panes properly.  I also get the same errors.  Admitedly I've never tried very hard.

Has anyone compared whether or not this occurs only when using VMR mode?  I have a hunch that if VMR isn't invoked, an RDP session would display "okay".

Cory - If you're able to RDP to a VSOM client and get 16 panes and the client is in VMR mode, then I'd *love* to hear some more details regarding the specifics of how you've managed this?  Are you then able to tweak the properties of the RDP session to limit bandwidth?  I'm currently curious about this possibility from a support perspective (as in myself, supporting clients remotely in this manner)

Cheers!
