if i wanted to completely wipe out the vsms software from a server and start from scratch, what would be the best practice for doing this?
I have the 6.3.1 recovery dvd, would that work? also, would that work on a server that was originally an older version?
thanks for any info on this!

Hi Jeremy,
As Gerry pointed out, the Recovery DVD will certainly do the job for you. Alternately, you could use the clean install option of the Cisco VSM Software Assistant. This will remove whatever VSM software components you have installed and re-install the components you choose. It is quicker than the Recovery DVD as it does not rebuild the RAID and re-install the Suse OS. So if you want to start from scratch with the OS, then the DVD is the better route.

The recovery DVD is intended to be able to do exactly what you are trying to do. This is for an MSP right?
