Good old 2621v cameras... anyone ever try to troubleshoot firmware failures or shutter clicking

Currently going through a batch of cameras in the office that are mostly older non warranty 2621v units.

Has anyone ever spend some time to identify and fix the following failures:

shutter release mechanism assembly constantly open and closing

With the camera powered you will hear a clicking every 3 seconds.

The other is a botched firmware upgrade where the camera receives its x.x.x.100 ip but will not get past the startup.cgi page and display a 404 error.

StephenMC,

I had this same problem a number of years back. It seems that a particular batch of the cameras were bad, both physically and software. We had about 5 that went bad. It really isn't worth trying to repair, we sent a couple of units to the BU and after examining them, they were deemed bad.

Here was my case at the time.

Nick,

I remember the the issue with some of the 2621v units that had the bad batch. Can't remember the exact batch of cameras but mine were not part of the faulty ones and had later serial numbers.
