I am replacing a Netgear wireless router (WGR614v10) with a Cisco WRVS4400N. When I go to set up the device on my Mac, 192.168.1.1 will not open in a browser. Do I have to do the setup on a PC? Or, am I doing something else wrong?

Hi Jon, first, factory default the unit holding the reset button for 30 seconds. Verifiy on the unit the diagnostic light is not on. Verify the port light is on for the port your computer is connecting to. Open a Terminal and trying to ping the 192.168.1.1. You may also check your network adapter to ensure you're receiving DHCP from the unit. I know on some MAC computer, you have to set your connection preferences. If you've been using wireless, open your network connection and choose your ethernet as primary connection. MAC sometimes does not work using a wireless + ethernet simultaneously.
