We have 2 sites connected thru 2 RV220W routers via VPN and most things are working fine. I have noticed however, that any device that has a web interface, i.e. our Sharp Copier and our Freenas server, is inaccessible. The page tries to come up but then I get the Cisco "server is down" page generated by the RV220W.
I can pull up the web interface pages if I use a machine on the local LAN but not on any machine across the VPN. The only commonality I can think of is the RV220W blocking that traffic for some reason.....
Any ideas out there?

Hi Randy, can you verify the default gateways on those devices? As an example, if a layer 2 managed switch does not have a default gateway specified, you will access locally but not from a different subnet (such as a VPN).

I just checked both routers and they both have the same default gateway in them which doesn't seem right to me.....the default gateway of each router should be set to the outside address of the ISP's modem right? They should be different on both ends of the VPN correct?

Randy, it's not about the router, it is about the devices you're trying to access. If you have a NAS, DVR, webserver, etc, the default gateway of those devices must be correctly defined otherwise you will not have access those devices from a different subnet. The default gateway of such devices need to be respectively correlated to the router they are behind.
The WAN of the router should be specified whatever the service provider has provided to you.

Oh sorry....yes they are correct....they both point to the address of the Cisco on their respective ends of the tunnel....

Randy, can you disable the Firewall of those devices if there is any? If you're trying to map drives on a Windows machine, the windows firewall will prohibit this from an outside subnet, similar with a linux box, you'll need to specify the ip routing.
Additionally, are you running active directory? It may be an AD problem.

The Sharp copier does not have a firewall and the other problem child is, ironically, a firewall but I can't really disable it......I'm not mapping drives so I don't think it is a Windows Firewall issue.
I'm simply trying to access the web interface for these devices and they both worked previously before I put in the Cisco routers......this is a weird one to me

Randy, can you try to set this printer as a DHCP address then see if it helps?
The Router won't block access to the printer. So I feel it is either an IP/network issue or an external factor like active directory problem.

Unfortunately I cannot because then I'd have to reconfigure all of the workstations......
I think I will just move on because it's not worth burning too many calories on.....I just wish I knew why it started as soon as I put in the new cisco routers....seems weird to me.
