I have been using an RV320 Gigabit Dual WAN VPN Router for several years now in a simple modem->router->switch configuration, and around the start of August I began noticing a few websites began timing out when I tried to access them.
For example, I cannot reach hivelocity.net (a dedicated server host) via HTTP any longer, though I was accessing it regularly before. It responds to ICMP traffic (ping, mtr/traceroute), and using nslookup I can verify DNS is responding properly.
# ping hivelocity.net PING hivelocity.net (66.232.99.10) 56(84) bytes of data. 64 bytes from 66-232-99-10.static.hvvc.us (66.232.99.10): icmp_seq=1 ttl=56 time=147 ms 64 bytes from 66-232-99-10.static.hvvc.us (66.232.99.10): icmp_seq=2 ttl=56 time=82.8 ms 64 bytes from 66-232-99-10.static.hvvc.us (66.232.99.10): icmp_seq=3 ttl=56 time=82.8 ms 64 bytes from 66-232-99-10.static.hvvc.us (66.232.99.10): icmp_seq=4 ttl=56 time=83.3 ms 64 bytes from 66-232-99-10.static.hvvc.us (66.232.99.10): icmp_seq=5 ttl=56 time=78.0 ms ^C --- hivelocity.net ping statistics --- 5 packets transmitted, 5 received, 0% packet loss, time 4002ms rtt min/avg/max/mdev = 78.071/94.909/147.450/26.340 ms
Testing a telnet connection to port 80
# telnet google.ca 80 Trying 172.217.3.163... Connected to google.ca. Escape character is '^]'. ^C Connection closed by foreign host. # telnet hivelocity.net 80 Trying 66.232.99.10... ^C
Additionally, when I bypass the RV320 and connect directly to the modem I'm able to connect and load sites properly. I have also upgraded the firmware to the latest version, and have attempted both power cycling and a factory reset without success.
Has anyone run into something like this before? Or have any suggestions about how to debug further?
Thank you,
Jeff

Super strange? Have you run a traceroute to see where it is getting stopped? I would compare trace routes with and without the cisco and see if they differ paths.
