RV340 cannot access

lglg

Level 1

Hello, I got an open box RV340, and cannot set it up. It seems to boot, green LED is stable. I tried:

- reset by holding reset 10s

- reset by doing 30-30-30 reset

- tried MacBook Air and Mac Mini

- tried known working Cat5e and Cat6 cables

- used DHCP and static IP

- tried 192.168.1.1 / 172.16.0.1 / 10.0.0.1

- tried TFTP (cannot reach host)

- measured power adapter, outputting 12.34VDC

It seems the device is booting, but I have no way of getting inside. I cannot flash firmware with TFTP as I cannot connect to it. LED light up depending which port is plugged in and briefly blink when I tried to ping or do TFTP.

Any advice on getting this router operational is appreciated. It just seems unaccessible.

Not sure is thei device bricked at this stage. lets follow below instruction see if that works :

1. are you said LED Green

2. remove all the cables except power lead..

3. take the clip hard press for 30 seconds- you see all the lights turn off (then release reset)

give 5-10min.

4. once you see the front pannel LED turn green and stable.

Connect your PC to any of the Lan ports and make sure you start the first DHCP before you try Static.

the check did you get DHCP  IP address ? ( I am sure it is 192.168.1.0/24 range)

then https://192.168.1.1  ( cisco/cisco - should work)

Hi BB, did the following:

- turned on RV340 only with power cable plugged in, let it fully boot and get solid green LED

- pressed the Reset button for about 30s, LED didn't go off. I released Reset button and LED started blinking along with port 1 and doing boot process

- waited 10m, router went to solid green LED at 3m

- connected network cable from turned off Mac Mini to network port

- turned on Mac Mini, wireless is off, Ethernet was set to DHCP

At this point the router LINK/ACT and GIGABIT LEDs went green, LINK/ACT blinks slowly now and then. Mac Mini got an address from DHCP.

glad all good, so you are on the right track as per the message.
