1+1 APS protection (7600)

The following question is posted under “optical networking” which may be better handled here. Can a single, multi-port SPA support APS on the same card or does it require 2 cards in either the same chassis or different chassis? Please answer using the link to the question (provided below):

Hi Friends,

The POS SPA for 7600 SPA-2XOC3-POS says that 1+1 APS protection is supported.

Would like to know the implementation, is it per SPA (2 ports in the same SPA) or divided across different SPA ports.

I belive it does, that is being done since the the times of first oc3 on the 7500.
