1720 Router problem - (bad checksum: 0x2dca)

Hi,

I recently picked up a 1700 router but am unable to reload the IOS. I'm trying to recover it through ROMMON but it keeps failing:

rommon 3 > dir flash:

File size Checksum File name

3682960 bytes (0x383290) 0x6dca c1700-osy56i-mz_120-3_T3.bin (bad checksum: 0x2dca)

25 bytes (0x19) 0xaca0 snmpengineid

Can anyone enlighten me to the 'bad checksum'?

Thanks in advance

Regards

IOS image size may missing or damage, upgrade IOS file from rommon via xmodem or tftp.

Hi all,

Thanks for your responses. I was originally going through the recovery steps as you've mentioned, but kept getting:

_____

*** Machine Check Exception ***

PC = 0x80fa0c0c, Vector = 0x200, SP = 0x8000636c

monitor: command "tftpdnld" aborted due to exception

____

....turns out the image was a couple of MB to big. Downloaded a smaller one and it's all sorted.

Thanks again

Regards

-Damian.
