1921 router with Verizon DSL with one Static IP

Hi All,

   Hope someone else can shed some light on this.

   We've got a 1921 router connected to Verizon's Westell modem, who's running in bridged mode. Verizon has given us a static IP to assign our router which we did. We also added a default gateway on the router back to the Westell modem (x.x.x.1).

   Now the problem we're having is we can't ping the router from the outside nor could we establish remote VPN client sessions. Ultimately we want to be able to have our employees connect via VPN to the 1921 router through the one static IP address assigned to us by Verizon Business DSL.

   Any idea? Appreciate it.

It is not uncommon for providers to leave some firewall config running on their "modems".

Does everything work when connecting to the Inetrnet from inside?

If so, calling Verizon sounds like a plan.

Yea connecting out to the Internet seems fine. We're able to ping 4.2.2.2 from the router as well.

I tried calling Verizon and as soon as they heard Cisco, the lady told us that they don't support such devices and wanted to close the ticket.

Since you can get out to the Internet, the bridge between the modem and the router seems correct.  Is there a FW/ACL configured on the router, or is everything open?  Our company uses those Westells, as well, and I am able always to ping the outside of them without making any adjustments.  However, this could be an exception.

Nevermind, we had a bad default route the whole time.

Verizon Business DSL with one static IP connected to a Westell Modem in bridged mode works fine with our Cisco router.
