Hi,

I'm in process of purchasing a new Cisco routers for our branches that will be used primary to enable IPSec virtual tunnel interfce with "tunnel mode ipsec ipv4".

my question is:

- does the default IOS IP Base supports this feature? or i need to purchase DATA license or SECURITY license?

For all kinds of IPSec-VPNs you need at least the SECURITY-License. That's not included in the Base-Lic.

i followed the feature link and i found i need either (SECURITY) or (DATA & SECURITY) does this mean the DATA license can fit our needs? since i think the SECURITY license is expensive than DATA

in addition, what is the Orderable column?

The DATA-license doesn't include IPSec-VPNs, only the SECURITY-license. But you could use the DATA *and* the SECURITY-License to have even more features. But for this router SECURITY is enough.

If the image is not orderable, you only can download the image. But you can't purchase them from cisco. But that's not needed in your case where you only need to purchase the license for SECURITY.
