Hi,
We plan to deploy 2811 router with switching module.
We have a continous multicast stream of 60 mpbs that needs to be encapsulated in either GRE or L2tpV3 (this stream is received on switching module) the L3 VLAN virtual interface.
No routing protocols configured only static routes will be used.
This router will be uplinked to 6500 backbone switch (by fast0/0 and fast 0/1) which has good 10 Gbps connectivity. On the other end of the tunnel we have similar 2811 router where tunnel will be terminated packets will be de-capsulated and will be sent to switching module where listeners will receive those packets.
I was wondering if 2811 will be able support this much packets processing, encapsulate forward etc ..
How do we decide that 2811 with one switching module + 60 mbps stream + encapsulation ( GRE / L2tpV3) + forwarding.
If not, how do we find the exact Cisco model for this much data handling basically sizing of the router model / cards / components / memory etc..
Thanks
