2900 SERIES ROUTER BLOCK TRAFFIC

Hello All,

I have a Cisco 2900 series that just blocks traffic in and of it. When this happens, i won't be able to log into it nor ping it locally using its local IP or Publicly using it public IP. But when i do a turn it off and on again everything becomes normal.

Does any one has an idea on how to deal with this issue.

Thanks

Hi,

you need to check with console and capture logs if any for further analysis.

thanks

That kind of symptom suggests some software problem such as a memory leak. I agree with the suggestion that if you can put a PC on the console port and display all console messages that there might be some indication of what the problem is (being sure that logging to the console at level 7 is enabled). Or is there is not a PC on the console that you might be able to telnet or SSH to the router, do terminal monitor (after verifying that logging monitor is enabled at level 7), and let it run till the problem happens.
